Secretaries-General

  • Conor Kitching

    SECRETARY-GENERAL & CHAIR, ECOFIN

Hi, I’m Conor! I am a sec-gen for this conference, and I couldn’t be more excited. I have been doing MUN for 4 years. I have attended over 20 conferences as both a chair and a delegate, representing countries ranging from Sweden to North Korea to Israel. MUN has taught me to see the world from different perspectives, and to engage with global problems in a constructive, open-minded way. ECOFIN is a committee that requires delegates to conduct a delicate balancing act between the power and fears of wealthy nations, and the interests of the Global South. You will be debating global debt, migration and economic fragmentation, issues which are extremely relevant to today’s politics. I look forward to seeing the innovative solutions you will come up with, even if I somewhat fearfully anticipate what some of those solutions might be. I pre-emptively exonerate myself from responsibility should, for example, you decide to send Elon Musk permanently to space, or invest the entire American treasury in Nigerian manufacturing. Although we may all gleefully revel in upending the global order, moderation, understanding, and above all copious amounts of persuasion will be necessary to succeed in this geopolitical quagmire. Good luck!

  • Diana Chorna

    SECRETARY-GENERAL & CHAIR, UNHRC

Hi, I’m Diana, and I have the pleasure of being one of this year’s Secretaries-General for the international conference, as well as the chair of the Human Rights Council. Over my 3+ years of MUN experience, I have engaged in many conferences and stimulating debates, and I have seen firsthand the immense value of speaking from another country’s perspective. One thing MUN has taught me is the skilful art of respectfully telling a fellow delegate to get lost without it being flagged by the chair as a point of order, while also educating me on foreign diplomacy, current affairs, public speaking, and widening my global horizons. These are all things I deeply hope our delegates will gain from this conference - if not more - which, I might add, is the largest conference Alleyn’s has ever hosted! The topics for the Human Rights Council have been chosen to cater to a wide range of interests, and we will be debating some generally unconventional issues for our committee through a conventional human rights lens. This should lead to fresh ideas and negotiations unlike any we have seen before. I imagine you are all as excited as I am for this conference, and I very much look forward to getting to know all of you!

Secretariat & Organising Committee

  • Edward Pugh

    CHAIR, SCI-FI COMMITTEE

Hi, I’m Edward, and I am really excited to be chairing the Sci-Fi committee at this year's Alleyn's International MUN conference. I’ve been to 8 conferences as a delegate and have loved every moment of my 3 years doing it. Sci-Fi is of course a fairly unusual committee and I am looking forward to seeing the innovative solutions the delegates will come up with on the issues of sentient AI, advances in cloning technology and a potentially apocalyptic death of the sun scenario. In these futuristic, and potentially existentially threatening, settings the words of the first ever UN Secretary General seem particularly pertinent; ‘“The United Nations was not created to take mankind to heaven, but to save it from hell.” With those words I can’t wait to see you in January- happy debating!

  • Seb Lo

    CHAIR, SPECPOL

Hi, I’m Seb and I will be chairing SPECPOL at this year’s Alleyn's International MUN. I think MUN is particularly important for young people given the vast range of issues our world faces. So, throwing yourself into a fun and challenging experience like MUN provides insight into developing public speaking and debate skills – it is an amazing opportunity. All of us can agree that diplomacy and international cooperation is critical; engaging with current issues even on a small scale is a great way to get to grips with the problems our generation will inevitably face in the near future.

  • Lily Hughes

    CHAIR, WHO

Hi, I am Lily. Having participated in MUN conferences and the club for the past three years I am excited to be chairing the WHO committee where we will discuss a broad range of topics. I think that this committee is important in MUN because it will give you the opportunity to debate real-world public health issues, understand how international cooperation shapes access and beliefs surrounding medical aid as well as give you the opportunity to build essential skills in research, negotiation, and diplomacy. The topics will be as relevant as they are interesting so I am excited to see you there and here your ideas!.

  • Ben Huggins

    CHAIR, DISEC

Hi, I'm Ben and I'm going to be chairing the Disarmament and International Security Council. After over 3 years and many conferences of experience, I'm really excited to be able to be a part of organising and running these events that I've enjoyed so much. I think that DISEC is the most interesting, and above all fun council; given its huge s#
cope and massively diverse country allocation, specifically so this year given the divisive and important topics up for debate, I hope that it is super valuable for you all. I think that one of the best parts of MUN is the incredible growth you can get from it -- both developing as a delegate and having a great time -- so I wish you all luck and a fantastic experience on DISEC!

  • Edo Iacuzzi

    CHAIR, SCI FI COMMITTEE

Hi! I’m Edo and I’m in my third year of doing MUN here at Alleyn’s, and I’m super exited to be chairing the sci-fi committee alongside my good friend Ed. Over the years I’ve taken part in many different conferences, and always loved representing a range of different (and sometimes very controversial) views, but I’ve never taken part in a sci-fi committee. I can’t wait to see how the delegates in this committee will use their real-world skills of diplomacy, discussion and collaboration, in order to navigate very otherworldly and strange problems. I can’t wait to meet everyone and wish you all the best in your preparation!

  • Alex Zaccari

    CO-CHAIR, ECOFIN

Hi, My name is Alex Zaccari, and I’ll be co chairing ECOFIN committee in the upcoming conference. Having been part of the conference experience previously, I know how interesting and engaging they can be, and how much opportunity there is to gain experience and insight into current affairs and global politics. I'm excited to work with the committee chair and the delegates over the course of this conference in what I'm sure will be a series of excellent debates and discussions. Can’t wait to see you all there!

  • Trisha Aiyar

    CO-CHAIR, SECURITY COUNCIL

Hi! My name is Trisha and I am one of the co-chairs for AMUN 2026. Having represented my school in a large number of conferences throughout my 3 years of being a delegate, I’m really excited to delve deeper into the world of chairing and the new perspectives it brings. I am very passionate about MUN, as I love the opportunity it gives me to analyse international relations and contemporary politics, especially from the views of underrepresented states. I look forward to engaging debates and can’t wait to meet all of you!

  • Augustin Rallon

    CO-CHAIR, SPECPOL

Hi, I'm Augustin and I am delighted to be co-chairing SPECPOL. My time at MUN (particularly as a delegate) has helped develop my skills both as a speaker and as a negotiator in a meaningful way. It has taught me a lot about the importance of civil disagreement and international cooperation within the context of an increasingly divided world. I hope, therefore, that my new role as co-chair will further broaden my understanding of diplomacy as a whole by observing how a range of delegates contribute to discussions in a meaningful way.

  • Sophie Lonsdale

    CO-CHAIR, HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

Hi I’m Sophie and I’m super excited to be your co-chair! I’ve been going to MUN for 3 years now and the club every Tuesday lunchtime is always the highlight of my day. My confidence in public speaking and writing resolutions has really improved and I enjoy debating different current political issues very much, whether this be healthcare, human rights, or something else entirely, though the crises with the potential to destroy our world are always my favourites. I can’t wait to see what angles delegates approach the topics from and to see all your incredible debating and negotiating!

  • Sophia Le Hill

    CO-CHAIR, WHO

Hi, I’m Sophia. As a relatively new joiner to MUN I am so pleased to be a co-chair at this upcoming conference. The thing I’m most looking forward to is meeting all of you guys and I’m very grateful to those of you who are coming such a long way. MUN has helped me improve my public speaking and communication skills in a formal setting – something that I don’t practice much in other areas of my life. See you all soon!

  • Amélie Hunt

    CHAIR, SECURITY COUNCIL

Hi delegates, I’m Amélie! I’m a member of the secretariat for this conference, and I am truly looking forward to chairing Security Council. I am now over 3 years deep into my MUN career - having taken part in everything from WHO to GCNL, at conferences both locally and internationally - so I am delighted to be part of your United Nations experience here at Alleyn’s. A staple to any conference, I look forward to the fiery debate of the SC as we explore security in Afghanistan, the Nuclear Korean peninsula and Terrorism in the Sahel region. I have no doubt that you will all thrive as you meddle with international relations, and argue your way into (or out of) the grey areas. Ranging from curry nights to foreign policy, MUN has hugely enriched my life over these last few years, and I hope it can do the same for you. AIMUN26 promises to bring nuanced, sophisticated and entertaining debate, and I can’t wait to meet all of you delegates there!

  • Saffron James

    CO-CHAIR, FLOATING

My name is Saffron, and I am a new Year 12 Alleyn’s student. Co-Chairing a committee is an opportunity I am truly thrilled about, and I am excited to be soon part of such a dedicated and motivated group of delegates! I am especially looking forward to some fruitful and competitive debate and want to help create a supportive but dynamic committee environment. I hope this conference will be both an enjoyable and enriching experience for everyone involved, and I am excited to work with you all.
