Secretaries-General

  • Chloé Masson

    SECRETARY-GENERAL & CHAIR, UNHRC

Hi, I’m Chloé! I’m one of the sec-gens for this conference and I couldn’t be more excited. I have done MUN for the past 4 years and attended many a conference, but none with such interesting topics as this. Human Rights is an amazing committee and I can’t wait to see you all compromise between international cooperation and national sovereignty. The protection and recognition of transgender right is something that I think is often brushed under the carpet and rarely touched on, so I’m interested to see what discussions the delegates bring to the table to address this situation whilst still respecting the beliefs of the gulf states.

This year should be an amazing conference with so many great experiences that we can all create memories from – and I can’t wait to meet you all!

  • Ted Jackson

    SECRETARY-GENERAL & CHAIR, DISEC

Hi, I’m Ted and I will be chairing the Disarmament and International Security Council. I’m really looking forward to this year’s conference. I think MUN is a great way to engage with the world around you, help to understand its issues, and come up with potential solutions for them. MUN is also great for developing various skills like debating, public speaking, and collaborating. I hope this conference will be a great opportunity for all to engage in challenging and fruitful discussions as we all work towards a better world.

Secretariat & Organising Committee

  • Conor Kitching

    CHAIR, Security Council

Hi, I’m Conor, and I will be chairing the Security Council. I have been a part of MUN for the past 3 years and in this time I have attended a large number of conferences, many of them on the Security Council, where have I learned how to engage with the world's problems and different perspectives. I look forward to seeing the innovative solutions delegates will come up with to solve the many difficult issues they will be faced with, and I somewhat fearfully anticipate veto negotiations that lie ahead. My time on Security has educated me above all about the importance of compromise, as it is a committee where a single dissent can often lead to failure, so moderation, understanding, and above all copious amounts of persuasion are necessary to succeed. Winston Churchill once said that ‘Diplomacy is the art of telling people to go to hell in such a way that they ask for directions.’ The Security Council has taught me that, and I hope to see much of it from you.

  • Yagmur Budak Pehlivan

    CHAIR, SPECPOL

Hi I’m Yagmur and I’m chairing for SPECPOL committee. Having been to 6 MUN conferences, and chairing one of them, I’ve found my favourite part of MUN to be gaining a wider knowledge and perspective of countries which you might not have learnt much about previously. I’m excited for our SPECPOL delegates to discuss the thought-provoking topics we have chosen, and to gain a greater insight on current political affairs together.  I’m excited to be working with all of you!

  • Elizabeth Doyle

    CHAIR, LEGAL COMMITTEE

Hi, I'm Elizabeth and I'm really excited to be chairing the first ever Legal Committee at Alleyn’s. In the two years I've been doing MUN, I've enjoyed every bit of it, and I've definitely learnt lots. In this conference, I can't wait to be involved in discussions about important topics such as Maritime Disputres and the Legalisation of Drugs, all of which I'm sure will produce fruitful debates..

  • Abril Gugliotta

    CHAIR, AFRICAN UNION

Hi I’m Abril. I’m very eager to be the chair for the African Union. I have been participating in MUN for the past 4 years, and in those 4 years I have represented many of the African nations passionately even creating our own African league in a conference in an attempt to diplomatically gain control during a Crisis. The topics we will be debating are pressing issues which we must  fruitfully debate to try to create an improved Africa. The scope we can cover with our topics is vast and I can’t wait to see what  fun ideas you come up with.

  • Seb Lo

    CO-CHAIR, ARAB LEAGUE

Hi, I’m Seb and I will be co-chairing the Arab League at this year’s AMUN. I think MUN is particularly important for young people given the vast range of issues our world faces. So, throwing yourself into a fun and challenging experience like MUN provides insight into developing public speaking and debate skills – it is an amazing opportunity. All of us can agree that diplomacy and international cooperation is critical; engaging with current issues even on a small scale is a great way to get to grips with the problems our generation will inevitably face in the near future.

  • Will Jones

    CO-CHAIR, SECURITY COUNCIL

My name is Will, and I am excited to be Co-Chairing the Security Council at this upcoming conference. Having participated in numerous MUN conferences, I can confidently say that Model United Nations is not only a fantastic way to stay informed about global affairs, but also an incredible opportunity to develop invaluable skills. What makes MUN special is the chance to connect with like-minded individuals in uniquely collaborative way. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and making this conference a great experience for everyone involved.

  • Arun Sharma

    CO-CHAIR, DISEC

Hi! I’m Arun and I’m thrilled to be co-chairing DISEC at this conference. MUN has been a great way for me to grow as a speaker and thinker, and DISEC is the perfect committee to dive into global security issues that really matter. I’ve been involved in MUN for a while now, both as a delegate and a chair, and I’m looking forward to a day of thoughtful debate, creative solutions, and meaningful collaboration!

  • Ben Huggins

    CO-CHAIR, AFRICAN UNION

Hi, I’m Ben, and I’m excited to be co-chairing the African Union committee. With 2 years and multiple conferences’ worth of experience as a delegate, I’ve learnt firsthand to compromise and debate through issues, whilst also enjoying engaging with global
challenges that will shape our future. I’m eager to be able to give others the experience that helped me develop skills to approach problems with nuance and think on my feet, whilst also hearing unique perspectives on modern issues - especially considering the inequality fostered by brain drain in Africa, a topic we will discuss in the African Union committee. I can’t wait to see you all there!

  • Diana Chorna

    CO-CHAIR, HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

Hi, I’m Diana, and I’m thrilled to be co-chairing this year’s Human Rights Council at AMUN. After three years of participating as a delegate, I’m excited to be stepping into the role of chair and seeing MUN from a new perspective. Human rights are at the heart of so many global challenges today, so I can’t wait to see the passion, ideas, and debates our delegates will bring to the table. At MUN we simulate the process by which meaningful, real world decisions are made so this is a great way to educate yourself on leadership and thinking on a global scale!

  • Aviyah Okunlola

    CO-CHAIR, SPECPOL

Hi, I’m Aviyah and I’m really excited to be co-chairing the SPECPOL committee. I’ve had so much fun as a delegate, so I’m looking forward to supporting the delegates as they discuss a variety of political issues. I’m excited to hear the range of different perspectives and interesting discussions on important global topics

  • Amélie Hunt

    CO-CHAIR, LEGAL COMMITTEE

Hi, I’m Amélie! I’m a member of the secretariat for this conference and I am truly looking forward to being co-chair on the GCNL. I am now over 3 years deep into my MUN career, having taken part in everything from WHO to Security Council at conferences both locally and internationally, so I am delighted to be part of your experience here at Alleyn’s. Although perhaps unfamiliar to you, the GCNL has an immense amount to offer (dare I say that, as an aspiring lawyer, it is my favourite committee of all?). I have no doubt that you will all thrive as you tear apart international law and argue your way into (or out of) the grey areas. MUN is a fantastic activity, not only because of the academic enrichment and how it can develop your negotiating capabilities, but because it can introduce you to really interesting people and push you to consider topics under new, more nuanced lights. This year promises to bring all that and more, so I can’t wait to see you there!

  • Deniz Budak Pehlivan

    FRONT OF HOUSE, ADMIN

Hello delegates, I’m Deniz, and I am one of the administration staff for this MUN conference. Whilst I’ve participated as a delegate in many conferences, the roles are reversed as I act as an administrator. My job is to make this conference as straightforward and untroubled as possible, and to answer any questions you might have. I am thrilled to be meeting all of you soon!
