COBIS-Alleyn’s MUN 2025

Friday 30th January - Sunday 1st February 2025

Keynote speaker

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting an incredible lineup of keynote speakers – from trailblazing human rights champion Dame Shami Chakrabarti to seasoned diplomats like Sir Sherard Cowper Coles, educational visionaries such as Sir Jim Knight and Sir Anthony Seldon, and global affairs expert Steve Crawshaw.

They’ve tackled some of the most pressing issues of our time – from migration and diplomacy to the impact of social media and the essence of leadership.

In January, we're gearing up to welcome yet another unforgettable voice to the stage. Stay tuned…

Diplomatic dinner

“If politics divides people, a good table always gathers them”

- Le Club des Chefs des Chefs motto

On Friday, after our opening ceremony and keynote address delegates will be able to enjoy a black-tie diplomatic dinner. This will be a key opportunity for delegates to form allegiances and negotiate signatories for their resolutions, as well as forming power blocks which could shape to direction of the whole conference.

Disco

On Saturday there will be a buffet-style dinner followed by a disco where delegates will have the opportunity to relax and have fun after a challenging day of debates. Advisors will also have the opportunity to unwind in our staff common room where some refreshments and nibbles will be provided!

London Model Arctic Council

We are delighted to welcome back Dr Anthony Speca, Arctic policy expert and founder of Polar Aspect, to host the Model Arctic Council at Alleyn’s International MUN. After hosting the inaugural MAC London in 2023, we’re proud to see its return in 2025 following a brief hiatus.

The Model Arctic Council (MAC) is the only secondary-school simulation of the Arctic Council in the world. Unlike traditional MUN formats, MAC models the Council’s real-world consensus-based approach, bringing together state and Indigenous representatives to tackle pressing issues such as climate change, sustainable development, and Arctic governance.

Led by Dr Speca, who has worked extensively with Arctic governments and education initiatives, MAC offers a unique and prestigious experience that challenges students to collaborate, think critically, and engage with one of the most geopolitically significant regions on Earth.

We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) to deliver this prestigious conference – a collaboration that brings together global expertise, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence in international education.
